Unified Inbox
Dev complete ~29 Jul, live in ~2 weeks. The high-impact one, record it first.
0:55

Hey, I'm [name] from the Carepatron team, and I've got a quick update on your inbox.

Until now, your client communication has been a bit scattered. Emails in one spot, secure messages in another, and you jumping between them to keep up. That's changing. The new unified inbox brings every conversation into one view.

The first time you open it, you'll see everything together in a single list. If that feels like a lot, here's the thing to know: you can filter by channel any time. Just your emails, just your secure messages, whatever you need in the moment. You can also filter by client or team member to find a conversation fast.

Nothing has moved and nothing is lost. It's all just in one place now, so you can work through your messages once and get on with your day.

That's it. Open your inbox and take a look.

Two-way SMS
MVP end of July. Provisioned practice number via Twilio, US only at launch.
0:55

Hey, I'm [name] from the Carepatron team, and this is a big one.

You can now text your clients directly from Carepatron, and they can text you back.

Here's how it works. You set up SMS for your practice, and we provision a dedicated number for you. From there, texting is just another channel in your inbox, right alongside email and secure messages. Send a text, and when your client replies, it lands straight back in the same conversation.

It's one number for the whole practice, and anyone on your team can use it. So a quick question, a reschedule, a check-in before a session, it all stays in one place, attached to the right client. No more personal phones, no more messages living somewhere your practice can't see.

We're starting with practices in the US, and more regions are on the way.

Head to your settings to set up SMS. We think you're going to use this one a lot.

Deposits for online booking
Dev complete ~31 Jul, then a verification pass. Percentage or fixed amount.
0:45

Hey, I'm [name] from the Carepatron team, with a quick one for everyone using online booking.

You can now take a deposit when a client books with you.

In your booking settings, choose either a percentage of the session price or a fixed amount, whatever suits your practice. When a client books online, they pay the deposit as part of the booking, and that payment comes through to you right away.

So instead of waiting until after the session to see any payment, you've secured part of it the moment the appointment lands on your calendar. The client has committed, and you've been paid something up front. Simple as that.

Deposits are live in online booking now. Head to your booking settings and switch them on.

DX code updates
In sprint from 27 Jul. Last-DX-code button plus reordering. US insurance audience.
0:50

Hey, I'm [name] from the Carepatron team. This one's for everyone billing insurance.

We've made two changes to DX codes that should save you real time.

First, returning clients. If you're seeing someone regularly, chances are you're entering the same diagnosis codes visit after visit. So there's now a last DX code button. One click, and the codes from their previous session are filled in for you. That's it.

Second, you can now reorder DX codes. Some payers care about the order codes appear on a claim, and if the order doesn't match, the claim can get rejected. Now your codes are clearly numbered, one, two, three, and you can rearrange them so what you submit lines up with what the payer expects.

Two small changes, but if insurance billing is part of your every day, they add up fast. They're live now, so you'll see them next time you're working with DX codes.

Billing inside appointments
Targeting end of quarter. New billing tab in the appointment, clearer statuses.
0:50

Hey, I'm [name] from the Carepatron team, and this update is about making billing easier to find.

Until now, sorting out the billing side of an appointment meant hunting around in a few different places. So we've brought it to you instead. There's now a billing tab right inside the appointment. Open any appointment, and everything to do with payment for that session is right there.

We've also made billing statuses much clearer. At a glance, you can see where things stand, what that status actually means, and what to do next. If you bill insurance, where things get complicated fast, this should take a lot of the guesswork out of it.

Same billing, a lot less hunting. Next time you're in an appointment, check out the new tab.

6
Client activity list
Scoping now, first slice possibly end of quarter. Confirm scope before recording.
0:45

Hey, I'm [name] from the Carepatron team, with an update to your client records.

You can now see everything that's happened with a client in one simple list. Intake forms and whether they've actually been completed, emails that have gone out, texts that have been sent. All of it, in one timeline.

So instead of piecing the story together from a few different screens, you get it in one look. Did that intake form come back? When did we last message them? Now it's a glance, not a search.

It's a simple change, but it makes staying on top of every client a whole lot easier, especially when your caseload is full.

Open up a client and take a look at their activity.

Not scripted, on purpose. The template importer upgrade is under the hood, workflows only reaches alpha in early September, and couples / minors / dependents is still in scoping. Script those once there's something customers can actually see.
